Places to Go

There are many places around America (and the world) I hope to travel, and Boston is one of them. If I ever go there, one of the many places I would love to visit is the Mapparium at the Mary Baker Eddy Library. Two of the characters in Interpreter of Maladies visited there; here’s what was written:

“One Saturday…he showed her his favorite place in the city, the Mapparium at the Christian Science center, where they stood inside a room made of glowing stained-glass panels, which was shaped like the inside of a globe, but looked like the outside of one. In the middle of the room was a transparent bridge, so that they felt as if they were standing in the center of the world.”
